OKTOBERFEST AND HALLOWEEN STAR IN THE OCTOBER AGENDA OF CASA SEAT
  • The space will celebrate Oktoberfest with live music and Bavarian cuisine in the restaurant
  • DJ Cucut will put the rhythm to the scariest night of the year to celebrate CASA SEAT’s first Halloween party
  • The burning body  will arrive on the 18th in a new edition of the Making of of DAMA with its director, Jorge Torregrossa, and the scriptwriters Edu Solà and Carlos López
  • Five-time Grammy-winning drummer Edu Ribeiro will present his latest work,  News,  on the ground floor of the space

CASA SEAT begins a month of October full of celebrations and musical events. Thus, on the 3rd, the Oktoberfest celebration will open CASA SEAT’s monthly agenda with a musical performance by the Austrian brothers Quetsch Ma Live. Throughout the week, Bavarian specialties will be offered in the space’s restaurant such as  pretzels ,  strudel  and  sauerkraut .

Later, CASA SEAT will participate for the third consecutive year in the 48H Open House Barcelona architecture festival. During October 21 and 22, visitors will be able to explore and discover every corner of the space and visit some of the private areas of the building.

To close the month, CASA SEAT’s first Halloween celebration will take place on the 31st. With a terrifying staging in which there will be no shortage of cobwebs, pumpkins or skeletons, attendees will be able to enjoy live music from DJ Cucut, the predictions of a tarot reader and many more surprises. In addition, the ground floor will become a virtual tunnel of terror that visitors will experience with VR glasses.

Flamenco, classical music and jazz in the musical events of the month

The BCN Z Sessions will return to CASA SEAT on the 7th with a performance by Tatiana Delalvz. Graduated in classical piano, Delalvz has dedicated more than 7 years to perfecting her talent in classical dance, flamenco, modern dance and hip-hop and, in 2022, she released her first album, Los Cafés Cantantes, an album that combines various  genres and sounds. In her performance at CASA SEAT, she will perform some of her best-known hits such as “Yo Nací Pa Amarte”, “Olé” or “Agua Pasá”.

On Saturday the 14th, the soprano Aida Gimeno and the pianist Carlos Sanchís will offer a recital at CASA SEAT that will bring back some of the most outstanding melodies and composers of the 19th and 20th centuries in France and Spain. Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, Frederic Mompou, Xavier Montsalvatge, Manuel Turina, Francis Poulenc or Henri Duparc are some of the composers who will remember.

One more year, on the 27th and 28th, CASA SEAT will once again be one of the spaces of the Ciutat Flamenco 2023 Festival and will host the V Edition of the Flamencology Congress. There will be a special table dedicated to Carmen Amaya on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of her death and the 110th anniversary of her birth, in addition to the presentation of the first solo album by the Malaga artist Paula Domínguez. The singer has worked and collaborated with artists such as Santiago Auserón, Rosalía, Maika Makovski or Frank Diago, among others.

On Saturday the 28th, drummer Edu Ribeiro, winner of five Grammys, will present his latest work,  News . Together with Samuel Passos (double bass) and Vinícius Gomes (guitar), Ribeiro will offer attendees some of the songs from his most recent album, which brings together interpretations of songs from different phases of his career, as well as unreleased compositions.

Between fiction and reality

The popular Spanish Netflix fiction  The Body on Fire  will arrive at CASA SEAT on the 18th in a new edition of DAMA’s Making of. Attendees will discover the secrets behind the success of this series based on the murder of police officer Pedro Rodríguez in 2017. Director and executive producer Jorge Torregrossa, executive producer Andrea Martínez, as well as screenwriters Eduard Solà and Carlos López, will share their visions and challenges in creating this production.

On the 24th there will be a new edition of the Literary Cafés with the Malaga writer Antonio Soler about his new work,  Yo que fue un perro . In conversation with the literary critic Jorge Carrión, the author will delve into this novel, which delves into the functioning of the mind of a young manipulator who attributes rights that only respond to his own obsessive criteria.

Technology and art come together at CASA SEAT

On the 4th, the debate “Natural vs artificial intelligence” will be held between the publicist Toni Segarra, in charge of representing human intelligence and abilities, and the innovation specialist Genís Roca, who will advocate at this meeting for the benefits of the new technologies and artificial intelligence. The speaker and motivation expert Lluís Soldevila will be in charge of moderating this meeting on the opportunities and challenges that the development of artificial intelligence can bring.

Digital art, art on the web3 and traditional art will be protagonists on the 16th at CASA SEAT in the meeting “Tech+Art: The role of art in a technological world”. Participating in the event will be Barbara Aurell, founder and CEO of the creative interior design studio ESPACIO EN BLANCO; Pol Rosset, CEO and co-founder of the  streaming platform  WindowSight; and the artist Regina Giménez. Silvia Bardani, artist and technologist, will moderate the conversation about the possibilities that digitalization is offering to creators, as well as the way in which new technologies can be used to, through interventions or artistic pieces, generate friendly and humans.

Finally, during this month, the “Pioneers” exhibition, a tribute to those women who changed the history of the automobile and which can still be visited until next October 14, will take over from a new exhibition. From October 16 to 28, CASA SEAT will host the finalist posters of the Human/AI Design Challenge, in collaboration with Barcelona Design Week. These projects, which have been created assisted by AI content generation algorithms, seek to be a reflection by students from design schools around the world on how to balance the best relationship between human creative thinking and artificial intelligence.
