MICHELIN PRESENTS THREE NEW TIRES FOR SPORTS AND TRAIL MOTORCYCLES

With 130 years of history in the development of tires for 2-wheeled vehicles and more than 500 victories in FIM World Championships, Michelin benefits from unique experience. Slick, radial, asymmetrical tyres… For 50 years, Michelin has always been the benchmark in terms of innovation in the motorcycle tyre sector.

Today, customers and the specialised press recognise that MICHELIN motorcycle tyres offer the best performance in all segments of use. Michelin is also the leading tyre brand trusted by consumers in most countries(5). In recent years, the MICHELIN Power and MICHELIN Anakee ranges have been approved by leading manufacturers such as BMW Motorrad, Triumph, KTM and Honda, among many others.

MICHELIN Power 6: to make the most of the pleasure of sports driving

The new MICHELIN Power 6 tyre is aimed at a wide spectrum of users of sports and super sports motorcycles, becoming the new reference for those seeking sportiness and driving pleasure on the road.

In addition to sports performance, this new tyre takes durability into account, both for users who use their motorcycle daily and for those who make trips and travel long distances. Dry and wet grip(1), handling and sportiness have been improved compared to the previous generation, making this tyre the perfect answer to the demands of motorcyclists and motorcycle manufacturers. Available in a wide range of sizes, the new MICHELIN Power 6 is recommended for motorcycles over 300 cc and has already been approved on the new KTM 390 Duke 2024.

MICHELIN Power GP2: to feel like an expert on the circuit and travel with total confidence on the road

Aimed at users of supersport motorcycles, this evolution of the MICHELIN Power GP tyre enters a new dimension: designed for riding on circuits, MICHELIN Power GP2 is also approved for use on the road. It offers an even higher level of dry and wet grip than the previous model(1-2), which was already a benchmark tyre in this segment. Thanks to precise handling, it improves the sensations on the circuit, allowing even the most experienced drivers to overcome their limits. Designed by the same team of engineers and using the same development tools as those used for MotoGP™ tyres, the new MICHELIN Power GP2 benefits from the experience gained by Michelin throughout its 500 victories in the FIM World Championship. .

MICHELIN Anakee Road: tyre with road performance specifically designed for trail motorcycles

The new MICHELIN Anakee Road for 90% on-road use completes the trail range with Anakee Adventure 80% on-road and Anakee Wild 50% on-road and 50% off-road. Trail bikes are very versatile motorcycles, which offer a very wide field of use. MICHELIN Anakee Road is designed for motorcyclists who use their motorcycles almost exclusively for long road trips or daily commutes, and prefer asphalt to off-road. This new tyre provides a high level of wet and dry grip(3), high mileage performance(4) and great stability for safer driving throughout the tyre’s useful life. Motorcycles in this segment have become lighter over the generations, but their size and appearance remain impressive. Michelin has designed the new Anakee Road tyre to adapt to the style of these motorcycles with an adventure look, but for use mostly on asphalt.

Edouard De Peufeilhoux, Director of the 2-wheel Business Line:

“Innovation is at the center of Michelin’s strategy. We are constantly investing in the development of our motorcycle tyre ranges to remain the reference in this field, both for our end users and for manufacturers. After the difficult market conditions in 2023, we are convinced that motorcyclists are eager to get back on the road and also have fun on the track. We have worked closely with motorcycle manufacturers to ensure that the performance of MICHELIN tyres contributes to driving pleasure and meets the specific requirements of the new motorcycle models presented at the EICMA show. We are very proud of the development team responsible for the three new products introduced at the end of the year. In 2024, numerous new products will be launched worldwide in different market segments: MICHELIN Power 6, Power GP2 and Anakee Road are just the beginning of Michelin’s technical revolution!”
